What sets a Suncrete self-leveling overlays install apart.
Most self-leveling overlays failures trace back to the same handful of compromises. We don’t bend on these, even if it costs us a job.
Slab flatness correction
Self-leveling cement pours into low spots and corrects slab flatness to F35-F50. Required for tile, LVT, polished concrete.
Decorative finish option
Stained, polished, or sealed as a finished floor surface. Looks like polished concrete at a fraction of the cost.
Coating-ready surface
Creates a flat, primer-receptive surface for any subsequent flooring. Solves rough-slab problems before the decorative system goes down.
The longer answer on self-leveling overlays.
Cementitious underlayments and decorative overlays, flatten uneven slabs before a coating, or finish as polished concrete. That’s the one-line version. The longer answer is that self-leveling overlays is one of sixteen coating systems we install across South Florida, and the only reason it ends up on your slab is because the walkthrough determined nothing else would last as long. Wrong-system installs fail at year 2 even with perfect prep. The most expensive floor anyone ever buys is the one that needs to come out and be redone in three years.
Prep work is the invisible part of every coating install. Half of every coating failure traces back to prep that was skipped or compromised. Acid-etching looks like a shortcut for a 30% lower price, but the failure pattern is consistent: edges peel at 18 months, full-coat delamination by year 3. Diamond grinding to a CSP 2-3 profile is the only prep that hits manufacturer spec on every coating we install. Shot blasting is faster for commercial-scale work but creates a coarser profile that’s wrong for thin decorative systems.
Pricing varies widely with slab condition. A clean new pour is bottom-of-range. A 30-year-old slab with prior failed coatings, oil contamination, and moisture issues can be 2-3x the cost of standard prep. The walkthrough is where we measure, moisture meter, prior-coating adhesion test, visible damage survey. We send firm pricing after, never a “starting at” range.
Common self-leveling overlays applications.
Most-requested project types where this system makes sense. We don’t push it into the wrong context, if your job doesn’t fit any of these, the walkthrough will tell us a different system is the right call.
B2B for other coating installers
Sub-only prep work for other South Florida epoxy companies who don’t own grinding equipment or are at capacity. We protect your client relationship, no upsell, no business-card exchange, just the prep work to the spec you provide.
Pre-coating slab repair
Diamond grinding to CSP 2-4 profile, crack chase, moisture testing with documentation, vapor barrier consultation for slabs that fail moisture spec. We document every step for your warranty file.
Stripping failed coatings
Mechanical removal of failed epoxy or polyurethane, no chemical strippers (those leave residue that fails the next install). Standard hourly rate plus equipment for large-scale strips.
Self-leveling underlayments
Cementitious self-leveler for slabs that fail flatness spec for tile, LVT, or polished concrete. Standard 3/8-1/2″ pour, primer-receptive within 4 hours. Can be the final surface if polished + sealed.

Sixteen total in our kit. The right system depends on the slab + use case, we won’t force-fit self-leveling overlays if a different system will outlast it.
What people ask us most.
When do I need this vs. just grinding?
Grinding fixes minor flatness. Self-levelers fix major flatness or low spots greater than 1/4″. They’re different tools for different problems.
How thick is the pour?
Minimum 1/4″, typical 3/8-1/2″. Can build to 1.5″ in single pour if needed.
Can it be the final finish?
Yes. Polished or sealed self-leveling overlay can be the final floor, common in modern industrial and retail spaces.
